Travel Grant


The 91st Annual Meeting of the Physiological Society of Japan offers Travel Grant to non-Japanese graduate students and post-docs (age 35 years or below) attending mainly from Asian and Oceanian developing countries to present high quality papers (poster presentation) at the meeting. Only the first author will be considered for this grant. The grant will be given to 10 winners with amounts depending on the travel distance (max 100,000 JPY per grant). Please note that an application for the Travel Grant should be submitted by November 20th (Wed), 2013.

How to apply for the Travel Grant:

Step 1. Find a Personal Reference in Japan
Find a personal reference in Japan who is usually a Japanese professor or researcher in your field of Physiology. He should be able to help you when you are visiting Japan. The president and secretary of the meeting would not accept this role.

Step 2. Application
Download the application form from the web site of the meeting, complete them, and submit them to the secretary office of the meeting. The form consist of:
1) Personal information (Curriculum Vitae, CV)
2) Title and abstract of the presenting paper
3) Publication list of the applicant
4) Reference (your supervisor or the head of institution)
5) Personal Reference in Japan.
The recommendation letter (or e-mail) must be sent directly to the secretary office by the recommender independently of the applicant.

Step 3. Submission
Submission of the form must be submitted to the secretary office of the meeting via e-mail (PDF file attachment) or FAX by November 20th (Wed), 2013.
All the documents will be remained as the property of the Physiological Society of Japan and will not be returned. Applicants should keep copies of the form if needed.

Decision and notification:

The decision will be made by December 5th (Thu), 2013. The winners will be notified by e-mails.

Funding:

Payments will be made at the meeting, on the confirmation of the expense by receipt of original invoices (flight fares etc) and the passport of the attendant.
